Zion Zuke

Music has always been and still is a big part of Zion‟s life. Growing up, she was a part of any concert or talent show she could sing in.  However she only started taking music seriously when she entered the Durban Girls' High School choir in 2005. In 2010 she started her vocal studies at the South African College of Music at UCT majoring in Opera.  During her years there she was featured on various productions as a chorus member and a soloist.
In 2012 Zion auditioned for Idols and went through to Sun City. In 2014 she was accepted on the Africa Voices programme and graduated from the SACM. In 2015, Zion then graduated from the Africa Voices programme and won the award of best performance in the Musical Theatre genre and a bursary towards her continued studies. She was featured as a soloist on Evita Bezuidenhoudt's „Song for Tomorrow,‟ sharing the studio with South African heavyweights Karen Zoid and Zolani Mahola from Freshlyground. She has also shared the stage with the legendary Vusi Mahlasela.
If you are looking for an artist who is the epitome of soul and class, Zion's unique blend of vintage classics, jazz and afro-inspired soul will thrill you.  Some of her recordings can be heard on Youtube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgcXx3Nt190
